Nico was born in Mexico City where his interest in film began at an early age visiting local film sets. Nico moved around a lot as a child, living in Manhattan, Mexico City, Morelos, San Francisco, and now Los Angeles. Inspired by photographer Flor Garduño and golden age cinematographer Gabriel Figueroa, he developed a life long passion for image making and storytelling. Today he works internationally as a music video, commercial, documentary, and feature film cinematographer. He is a member of the Mexican Society of Cinematographers, International Cinematography Guild, and IATSE Local 600. He loves blues, history, art, and playing guitar. Currently working on Charlie Day’s feature film “El Tonto” starring Kate Beckinsale, John Malkovich, Ken Jeong, Ray Liotta, Adiren Brody, and Charlie Day.
